Galactic Gambit: Martian Misadventure

Galactic Gambit: Martian Misadventure
This project was done during my second year of college for a final project in a course titled 'Science Fiction and Futuristic Narratives'. Assigned with the challenge of crafting an artistic adaptation, I chose to transform Andy Weir's renowned book 'The Martian' into a visually engaging retro-futuristic video game concept. This endeavor culminated in a compelling compilation of concept art, showcasing my creative interpretation of the immersive world within the pages of Weir's masterpiece.
*  This project represents an early stage in my creative process and may not fully showcase the quality of my finished work. The rougher nature of these stages is a result of the project's specifications and tight deadlines.
SYNOPSIS
In 'Galactic Gambit: Martian Misadventure', players embark on a high-stake journey as Dolores Hawkins, an astronaut stranded on the barren expanse of Mars in an alternate retro futuristic universe. With limited contact with Earth, Dolores must confront the harsh reality of isolation, relying solely on her ingenuity and resourcefulness to survive. As players scavenge for vital resources, navigate treacherous terrain, and slowly construct a spaceship to leave the planet, they must find ways to survive the psychological toll of isolation, and the moral dilemmas inherent in every decision. Against the backdrop of the harsh and unforgiving Mars landscape, Dolores' quest for survival becomes a testament to the indomitable human spirit, as players confront the daunting challenges of exploration, discovery, and ultimately, the pursuit of redemption in the face of overwhelming odds.
